Boy Scout Eagle Project

Max Oliver, 14year old from Orem, Utah, came to South Africa to finish his Eagle Scout project.  His grandparents Elder and Sister Poelman are serving a mission here and when the family decided to come for a visit, an Eagle project to help the people of South Africa was born.  Max has really made a difference for an orphanage here in the township of Umlazi U section of South Africa.  The work began in Utah, collecting money, making colorful pillowcases, and purchasing stuffed animals.  While in South Africa they were able to purchase school uniforms, shoes and school supplies, backpacks, propane stove and food for the Sphakamelo Orphanage.  You can tell by the happy faces in the pictures that they were very grateful for the donations. Max and his brother Zak (12yrs) danced with the children in Zulu costumes.
